I’ve used Mossery products since early 2018, but have been a huge fan of the brand for as long as I can remember.

Their commitment to helping artists, writers, students, professionals, and the other folks through beautifully designed tools is inspiring. Mossery planners, sketchbooks, and journals are fun and customizable, with features to help you plan and achieve your goals, whether in life or at work.
A few months ago, they launched the Half Planner + Notebook system. It’s a 6-month undated planner and 96-page notebook rolled into one, and you can choose the format you prefer.
- Weekly horizontal vs. weekly vertical for the planner
- Ruled or dot grid pages for the notebook
I placed my pre-order on my birthday, and received it two months after. In my mission to collect as many of their cover designs as my wallet will allow, I chose Plain Forest this time.

Mossery prides itself in creating an unboxing experience customers can enjoy even before they get their hands on their goodies, and mine was no exception.
The box is the special speckled yellow and green box. Opening it, there’s the blue box with the ribbon lock, which you’ll pull open to see the half planner + notebook.
The rest of my pre-order goodies include my PVC transparent sleeve that fits the standard books, two regular sticker sheets and one artist’s sticker sheet picked at random.
I was especially excited for the transparent sleeve after seeing how much smudge and dirt the hard cover could get in just six months of daily use.

I managed to fit it into the sleeve, making sure to be extra careful when sliding the cover in so it doesn’t rip the plastic. It doesn’t close flat when you let it lie on its spine, so that’s something that caught my attention.

The planner on the left features a 6-month monthly planner, 31-week weekly planner (horizontal format), 8-month habit tracker, and personal pages such as the inspiration boards, and pages to write down your priorities, values, and goals.
The last three sections are my personal favorite, but I’m excited to try the habit tracker to see if it’ll help me keep track with what I hope to be a regular exercise schedule. ?️♀️

So many people are into bullet journaling and the dot grid format these days, but I’m still loyal to the grid and ruled pages as it gives me the line guides I need when writing.
They didn’t offer grid pages for this launch, so I went with the next best thing.

The pages are 100gsm and super flexible where you can use all kinds of writing tools—pencils, ballpoint pens, rollerball pens, and even fountain pens—without worrying about see-through, feathering, and bleeding. This was a great improvement from the older notebook pages where I couldn’t use even a regular MUJI gel pen without seeing the ink feathering so much.
Finally, you can purchase refills to replace your old planner and notes with, so you don’t have to buy an entire set again if you run out. I ❤️ this feature to the core, and am glad they’re finally releasing refills not only for the savings, but so I don’t get too tempted to collect all of their designs. ?
Overall, Mossery did a great job with the Half-Planner + Notebook system, and I’m happy with my birthday gift. I can’t wait to use this special planner and writing system next year.
