No matter how optimistic I envision myself to be about writing travel updates on schedule, Body and Mind just don’t give a damn if rest comes a-knocking.
The trip from the Philippines was a long and tiring one, no thanks to Philippine Airlines for making us get up at 3am, only to wait more due to a 3-hour delay. But we’re finally here in Singapore, and we made it to our hotel, The Quay Hotel, safe and sound!
This is our second visit since 2012—7 freakin’ years ago—and the kids are so excited for what we have in store for them. For their first day, we gave them a taste of public transportation by taking the MRT from Changi Airport Singapore all the way to Clarke Quay, which was a 45-minute ride + a 15-minute walk to the hotel.
Thankfully we brought the stroller, so Noah wasn’t throwing tantrums or needed his dad to carry him all the way. We’re also glad we got them new sneakers before the trip, so their feet didn’t hurt as much and they didn’t complain.
These are just a couple of snapshots taken on the way:
This little one’s so excited. On the plane heading to Cebu, our first stop. Changi Airport Singapore Push-ups! 1! 2! 3!
Our next stop is Singapore Zoo + River Safari, plus any other place we may decide to visit afterwards. Hopefully it’ll be a smooth one now that we’ve got WiFi and our Singapore tourist passes. While quite expensive, I highly recommend getting these if you plan on staying for a couple of days and are visiting different areas in Singapore.
Fun fact: Did you know that “Quay” is pronounced as “key”? The lady at the pocket wifi counter also pronounced it as “kwaki.” How cool is that? All this time I’ve been calling it “kway” so it’s a good lesson to learn. ?
