If you peruse through my 2017 planner, you’ll find a section called “Good Things That Happened” where I note down my small-big wins in life and work.
The past few months these Good-Things-That-Happened boxes are filled up with all kinds of achievements and events that kept me away. It’s wonderful and frustrating at the same time, and I’ve been kicking myself to write my Friday recaps regularly.
Today’s sad excuse for an update will hopefully break the silence and keep on going from hereon.
I’m launching my stationery blog-shop 🌸 (35% done)
I call pagerie.co a “blog-shop” because I want my writing will be the expression of my passion for paper products and writing tools. For fellow stationery users who can’t afford these brands, this is my way of giving them the opportunity to try the products I write about.
At this point, I’m still building the website and gathering enough inventory. It’s such a fun and frightening experience that I keep reminding myself not to swallow more than I can chew.
It took many years + two failed businesses to realize this tiny dream, so the last thing I want is for this brand to fall apart. I’m taking things slowly and praying long and hard for its growth and success.
pagerie is launching in January 2018. In the meantime, you can sign up for shop news and my monthly newsletter, the pagerie club.
I’ve reached my weight loss goal 🏋️♀️ (120 lbs)
Recalling Day 1 of my fat-burning journey, I thought getting to 120 lbs was going to take a year or more to achieve.
I mean, the 8fit workouts were pretty easy to do and I didn’t trust myself to manage my eating habits thoroughly. Once it became a daily routine and my lifestyle began to change, I was able to shed off the extra pounds and get more done in the day.
My biggest gain from all this is improved physical and mental health. I don’t get sick all the time and I’m less irritated or angry over the little things. It took a lot of hard work and perseverance, but knowing and committing to the WHY behind this goal helped me turn it into a reality.
I’ve taken on my first website redesign project 🖥 (10% done)
Jayson came home from the gym with news about someone looking to hire him to build a website for their vacation property.
I told him WordPress was a great platform to use, so he suggested I take on the project.
The idea felt and sounded good. My gut told me this was something I should do, since my vision of Philippine businesses upping the ante with their online presence could be realized through this project.
I said yes.
We met the couple twice this week and they’re wonderful people. They gave us full reign of how we were going to help build their website, which makes things so much easier. They explicitly asked for a long-term relationship, an opportunity that’s too good to pass on.
I’ll be seeing them this Saturday for the full project proposal and contract signing. 🤞
5Guns Christmas getaway to Camiguin Island 🏝
5Guns started out as a team fighting for the top spot at our local trivia night event. It eventually became my barkada here in Cagayan de Oro and we’ve hung out on other occasions—birthdays, random get-togethers, etc.
This year, we’ll be heading to Camiguin Island to celebrate Christmas together this coming December 15-18. It’s been years since I visited the island + the kids have never stepped foot, so I’m excited. Stay tuned for another travel series over at the Blue Suitcase.
Yeah, yeah, this sounds like a something more fit for the summer, but when you’re living in a tropical country you can only do so much with the resources you have. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That’s a wrap
2017 is already coming to a close and I’ve not covered most of what I hoped to write about here in Diwa Daily. WTH Stef.
Hopefully this will change now that I managed to blog again. It’s like weight loss. I just need to build the habit and the routine. Can’t be that hard, right?
